Our planning is in full swing for Fairfield Foundation’s annual summer fundraiser, on Saturday, June 18, 2016, and we hope YOU will join us! Our event this year offers guests a very special opportunity to visit Wilton in Middlesex County, one of Virginia’s best preserved colonial homes. Carefully maintained by owner Stephen Foster, this colonial house and grounds retain many original features and rich archaeological resources. Guests will be invited to enjoy the spacious grounds of this historic house built on the Piankatank River. Fairfield Foundation will provide displays sharing our outreach projects, educational adventures, and research discoveries. All guests will also be able to review the recent archaeological discoveries on the site. In addition, for sponsors at the Silver, Gold and Platinum levels, we will include a house tour led by Mr. Foster. We look forward to sharing with you the history of the house and property, which has been restored to its colonial glory. Caterer Helen Ward of The Table at Wilton will serve heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine.

Fairfield Virtual History Marathon
Tickets
Oct 1 @ 12:00 am – Oct 31 @ 11:45 pm
The weather is getting cooler, and to celebrate, we have the perfect new outdoor fun-raiser to share with you! Join us for the first Fairfield Virtual History Marathon!
Register for the virtual marathon for just $25 and you’ll be able to “race” throughout Gloucester, visiting 11 different historic sites on your route (including sites in Main Street’s Historic District, as well as Werowocomoco, Rosewell, Fairfield, and more!). Just log your activity (running, hiking, walking, biking, swimming, gardening, you name it) from anywhere you are (using the Racery app for Android or iPhone, or using racery.com), and watch your avatar progress along the virtual route! You have from October 1 through October 31 to run the 26.2 mile route (or run the route multiple times if you’re a super motivated ultra-marathoner)!
Proceeds from the race will contribute to the development of outdoor educational outreach programming at Fairfield Archaeology Park in 2021.
Prizes will be announced throughout the race!
