Adventures in Preservation (AiP) workshop at Timberneck Farm – September 4-9, 2022
You can be among the first to help conserve the c. 1793 Timberneck farmhouse, where exhibits will feature the history of the property and the enduring stories of Virginia’s tribes. Learn traditional masonry and carpentry skills as you further the goals of the new Machicomoco State Park.

You also have the opportunity to learn hands-on archaeology skills at the nearby Fairfield plantation.

Come enjoy the best of both sites! A fee is required for all workshop participants. Register at https://adventuresinpreservation.org/fairfield3

Nov 19 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Fairfield Foundation is excited to announce the return of the Timberneck Turkey Trot 5k Run/Walk Fundraiser for its second annual event!

Registration will be open soon!

Run or walk this scenic, flat, paved 3.1-mile loop course at Machicomoco State Park in Gloucester, Virginia. Water will be available at the start/finish line, as well as as the halfway point of the race route. Public restrooms will also be available near the race finish.

All race proceeds help fund the restoration of the Timberneck House, the c.1800 Catlett family home overlooking the York River in Machicomoco State Park. The Timberneck House is undergoing renovation to become a place for learning, lodging, and exploring Virginia’s Middle Peninsula. Be one of the first to contribute to the renovation campaign by registering for the Timberneck Turkey Trot! To learn more about the project, visit https://fairfieldfoundation.org/timberneck/.

Registration cost includes the $5 state park entrance fee. All registrants will get a race t-shirt and swag bag. Medals will be awarded after the race for overall top finishers as well as top finishers in specific age categories. Registration fee required for participants 16 and older; children under 16 may race for free but will not get race shirt unless purchased separately (email anna@fairfieldfoundation.org to order).

Stick around after the race to watch the medal ceremony, eat snacks, and enjoy the beautiful setting of the Timberneck House and Machicomoco State Park!
