Help Make The 2013 Amazing Raise A Success For The Fairfield Foundation!

It’s that time of year again! We are gearing up for the third annual Amazing Raise online fundraiser event, which is coming up next Wednesday and Thursday, September 18 and 19!

If you’re unfamiliar with the Amazing Raise event, here’s some brief background information: The Community Foundation of Greater Richmond is hosting a 36-hour online giving challenge called The Amazing Raise, enabling supporters of local nonprofits to donate online to the nonprofit of their choice. The Fairfield Foundation has participated for the past two years with great success, and we are hoping that with your help, we can again surpass our previous benchmarks with the upcoming 2013 event. This year’s challenge will take place between 6:00 a.m. September 18 and 6:00 p.m. September 19. To donate, visit http://www.giverichmond.org/  and search for “Fairfield Foundation” or use this direct link to our donation page: https://www.giverichmond.org/npo/1043211

Through the Amazing Raise challenge, you can help raise both funds and awareness for the Fairfield Foundation. We are closer than ever to completing our restoration efforts at the Edge Hill Service Station, with the goal of opening our new Center for Archaeology, Preservation, and Education (CAPE) in the summer of 2014. There is still a lot of work to be done to prepare this space as our future home, and a donation event like The Amazing Raise gives all of our supporters an opportunity to accelerate this process, helping with ongoing tasks such as wiring and lighting the building, and repairing and painting windows and doors.  Your help also allows us to continue our many outreach programs working with students and volunteers across the region, excavations at Fairfield and other sites, and processing, conserving, and studying the artifacts that we find.

Why give this way? First of all, it’s fun to get in the spirit of giving within a large community, and with the additional motivation of incentive prizes, who can resist the excitement? The Amazing Raise offers a number of great donation incentives, and you could help The Fairfield Foundation earn a prize! The top three organizations to receive the most overall donations of $50 or more will receive prizes of $20,000, $15,000 and $10,000. Some of the other unique incentive prizes include:

Grow the Grassroots Prize $1,000/each
Awarded to the 3 organizations with Total Revenues of $250,000 or less that receive the largest number of donations during the event.

Most Improved $1,000
Awarded to the organization that demonstrates the greatest improvement (in number of donations) from last year’s event. Eligible organizations include those that received at least one donation in 2012.

Procrastinator’s Prize September 19th, 4 – 6 pm $2,000 each
Awarded to the 3 organizations that receive the most donations during this time.

There are other prizes that reward those who receive donations during certain time frames – so check out the full list of incentives to see what best fits your giving schedule! The beauty of an online event is that you can participate from anywhere. If you have been intending to donate to Fairfield, want to renew your membership, or can’t resist jumping into some friendly competition, be sure to participate in the Amazing Raise event!  Mark your calendar. Spread the word. And most importantly, support your favorite nonprofit(s) and better your community by participating in The Amazing Raise, 6:00 a.m. September 19 through 6:00 p.m.September 20!
