The Fairfield Foundation Family Circle, an affiliate chapter of Coming to the Table, meets on the second Tuesday of each month, from September–December and February–May, from 5:30–7:00 pm, in person at The Woodville Rosenwald School, 4310 George Washington Memorial Highway, and via Zoom. Each January we host our MLK Jr. Day community program, and in June we gather for a two-day Homecoming hosted by Historic Antioch Baptist Church to celebrate kinship and connection.
The mission of the Fairfield Foundation Family Circle is to move beyond the legacy of enslavement on Virginia’s Middle Peninsula by gathering around the table, as the descendants of the formerly enslaved and slave owners, to share stories of ancestral roots on plantations and farms like Fairfield, Rosewell, and Timberneck and to shine light on the multifaceted people and communities that endure in these places.
