Historic House Party 2025

Fairfield Foundation’s Board and Co-Directors thank the generous sponsors and supporters of our 11th Annual Historic House Party at Hockley on the beautiful Ware River on October 25. Special thanks to hosts Suzanne and David Hudson. This was our most successful event, raising over $37,000 for outreach projects throughout the community. In this 25th anniversary year, we celebrate many achievements: instilling indelible memories for students and interns, sustaining critical research on local historic landscapes, and stewarding our five historic Gloucester properties so they are available for everybody to experience and enjoy.

House Party attendees enjoyed wonderful food prepared by Gumbeau’s Catering, including oysters and steak tips grilled over a searing flame. Tommy Ruark of TRSax provided music for the evening. Fairfield staff shared information about current archaeology outreach, and an array of posters represented decades of work at historic properties across the region.

Special thanks to Gold Sponsors, Conrad Hall, Chesapeake Bank, Friends of Cappahosic House, Kevin & Noreen Schwartz, Jay & Lori Black, and Martin, Ingles & Hensley, Ltd. for their generous contributions. Silver Sponsors included Hodges & Bryant, Auto Spa, Quoin Builders, Peninsula Heating & Air, Cook Foundation, Gloucester Main Street Preservation Trust, Harvey & Mary Helen Morgan, Robert Pagelson & Joan Bevelaqua, Tom Karow & Cheryl Dale, Bill & Roxanne Andersen, Tim & Janet Brown, Eany & Thane Harpole, Elizabeth Santini, Amy Van Fossen, Martha McCartney, Chris & Penny Doyel, and Betty Leviner. Bronze Sponsors included Tri-River Investment Group of Davenport & Company, A.Y. & Linda Bryson, Philip & Anne Page, Selena Collins, Chris & Carol Karow, Bill & Madelyn Weaver, Marilyn Iglesias, David & Marilyn South, John & Margaret Singleton, Breck & Mary Montague, Chip & Catherine Louthan, Mark & Roberta Chapman, and Warren & Holly Zuger. We thank Gloucester County PRT for the tent, Brent & Becky’s Bulbs for parking, Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church for their van, chairs and tables, and our staff and volunteers who brought everything together and provided delicious homemade desserts.

We have been honored by your 25 years of support helping Fairfield study, preserve, and present history to an ever-growing community. Together we are sharing and shaping the stories of the past in a way that benefits us today, and for many decades to come.
