Our largest VA250 event of the year brings archaeology and community celebration together. Visitors can join excavations, watch blacksmithing and brickmaking demonstrations, enjoy music, and explore what nearly 26 years of archaeological research at Fairfield has revealed about life before, during, and after the Revolution.
Dress as your favorite archaeologist and dig with ours! This family-friendly Halloween event blends excavation with oral histories, folklore, and discussions of colonial and Revolutionary-era beliefs and superstitions.
Grounds are always open to the public to view the building exterior and signage. The CAPE is open for tours on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at other times by appointment. Lab nights at the CAPE are on 1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 6-9pm.
